Last October I was experimenting with pearls, re-envisioning them, re-branding them, and giving them a fresh life. The response was polarizing. My designs went up for assessment across a panel of industry professionals where nearly across the board, I scored low in the marketability category. Disheartened, I abandoned my more daring designs in pursuit of something more comfortable for everyone.
I look back on my old work and see so much creativity that I have since been suppressing. I picked up one of the rings in that collection and decided to give her one final, finishing touch.
The Sphaera Ring was hand-carved and casted in-house using repurposed gold. Three up-cycled diamonds were set into the sides of the ring using a technique called bead setting. The new addition to the ring features a cognac colored diamond that was bezel set in 14k yellow gold with a hand engraved adornment.
